FINAL YEAR PROJECT

FINAL YEAR PROJECT

SOLAR TRACKER

Solar tracker is a generic term use to describe devices that orient various payloads toward the sun. payload can be photovoltaic panels, reflectors, lenses or other optical devices. In standard photovoltaic (PV) applications trackers are used to minimize the angle of incident between the incoming light and a photovoltaic panel. This increases the amount of energy produced from a fixed amount of installed power generating capacity. In standard photovoltaic applications, it is estimated that trackers are used in at least 85% of commercial installation grater than 1MW from 2009 to 2012. Photovoltaic panel accept both direct and diffuse light from the sky. The panel on a standard  photovoltaic trackers always gather the available light. The tracking functionality in standard photovoltaic trackers is used to minimize the angle of incident between incoming light and the photovoltaic panel. This increases the amount of energy gathered from the direct component of the incoming light.
Photovoltaic or PV for short is a technology in which light is converted into electrical power. It is best known as a method for generating solar power by using solarcells packages in photovoltaic models, often electrically connected in multiples as solar photovoltaic arrays to convert energy sun into electricity. Solar tracker is design with motor so that the solar panel will move toward the position of sun moves from east to west. In order to produce a maximum power output.

             Objectives Project

The objectives of the project is to create a program for a solar tracker so that the solar panel can produce a maximum output. This solar tracker will follow the sun movement to produce more output power.

 Project Scope

The scope that involve in this project are implementation of microcontroller in controlling the project output and choose the suitable motor to control the suitable angle of solar panel and tracker
